If Our Skin Could Talk... A Summer Letter From Your Body (And The Wild Remedy)

Written by the Founder of The Wild Remedy

Officially speaking, summer begun here in the UK on June 20th, but let’s be honest: we’ve been mentally sunbathing since April. The days are stretching longer, strawberries are sweeter, and there’s a seasonal shift that seems to whisper: “It’s time to shed the old, refresh the soul and take stock.”

But let’s not just spring-clean our wardrobes and swap soup for salads. This is your seasonal nudge to start thinking about what you’re feeding your body — both internally and externally. Yes, we’re talking skincare, haircare, nutrition, and even those thoughts you stew on before bed. Because summer isn’t just about glowing skin – it’s about glowing from within.

If our skin could talk, here’s what it would say...

“Please stop feeding me unpronounceable ingredients. I’m not a chemistry experiment.”

It might also whisper: “Thank you for the lavender oil yesterday. More of that please.”

Our skin does talk to us — just not in English. It communicates in flare-ups, breakouts, dullness, irritation, and that tired feeling you get when your face doesn’t quite match your mood. But when it's happy? Oh, it shows off. It glows. It feels soft and hydrated, like it just had a hug from nature.

Fun fact: your skin is the largest organ of absorption. Which means what you put on your body is just as important as what you put in it. If we’re sipping herbal teas but slathering ourselves in products full of the "Toxic Ten" (see list), we’re missing the point.

The ‘Toxic Ten’ — Know Your Enemies

Ever turned over a skincare bottle and seen a list of ingredients that could pass for a Star Wars character?

There’s a long list of synthetic nasties in mainstream skincare — parabens, phthalates, PEGs, synthetic fragrance (aka chemical soup), sodium lauryl sulphate, and more. These chemicals can disrupt hormones, cause irritation, and harm the environment.

The Wild Remedy was born as a quiet rebellion to that.

Nature Has The Answer — It Always Has

We believe every product we use should feel like a kind gesture — to ourselves and the planet. That’s why we’re curating our natural skincare and haircare ‘Staples’ Collection — inspired by real feedback, rituals, and nature itself.

This collection has been shaped by your words, your needs, and your honesty — from workshops and wellness retreats to family chats and emails. It includes balms, botanical serums, gentle cleansers, scrubs, oils, and more — all formulated with integrity and real purpose.

‘Wild Circle’ — A Quiet Invitation

This summer, we’re excited to open up something new. A trusted, kind-hearted space we’re calling Wild Circle.

Wild Circle is our growing community of family, friends and kindred souls who’ll have:

  • Early access to our full product collection before public release

  • Lower prices (to help cover production and ingredient costs)

  • Full ingredient and INCI lists (to support informed choices and allergy awareness)

  • A voice in what products we launch officially (as each CPSR assessment costs time and money)

  • A circle to share your ‘swear by’s’, ‘recipes’ and gems passed down from generations and your journey.

You’ll get to try our natural products and be part of a beautiful feedback loop — helping us refine what works and shape our final launches.

This is how many of the most-loved natural brands began — and it’s how we want to grow: through intention, integrity, and community.
